Gracie’s First Christmas Adventures
There’s a lot that goes on in a puppy’s life. It is filled with “firsts” just like a childs. They are full of wonderment and they explore constantly. Gracie had a great first Christmas. She met lots of friends..got lots of attention from family and learned the spirit of giving from all the people who wished her well after her near death experience! This was Gracie’s first experience with shopping..Christmas trees, wrapping presents and holiday celebrations. She really made it through with no major incidents.. and she loved every minute of it!
She met Jill’s Boston Terrier, “Dash” who treated her like a toy and then became annoyed with her playful antics as she tried to chew on him a few times. Gracie learned about her crate, as she slept there for a few hours a day getting used to it while I went shopping for Christmas presents. She did fine and seemed to like it in there with the heating pad below her to keep it warm and cozy and her toys nearby to play with between naps. Gracie played with Carly and took naps with her on the sofa.On Christmas day we treked out to Nana and Papa’s house for Christmas dinner and no one spoiled her puppy diet by giving her people food.. at least I think not anyway! She quickly got used to having 5 acres to run and play around on.. and she followed Dash, nipping at his heels while Eleanor snapped her photo. She is quite the celebrity.Gracie had lots of firsts..and is enjoying puppy life and attention for sure.
They really don’t “get it” about things like shoes.. if people love them enough to put them on every day,.. well.. I should be able to love on them too, and that means I put them in my mouth alot.
The most confusing thing is the difference in people food and dog food. You see, dog food is fine as long as there is no people food around. Gracie turns into “survivor mode” when real food is anywhere near. Being the runt. I suppose she had to fight her way through the pack to get to eat!
She’s still a puppy.. she plays alot, and naps alot. She loves the sun coming in the door in the morning. and that is where she takes naps like the one in her photo.Gracie is enjoying holidays and thinks every day is a holiday!
